Been doing that. Got telrad charts printed off and laminated, going to be buying a sky atlas.

Waiting on telescope house to open back up at weekends so I can pop down there and buy, crayford focuser, 2" diagonal and 3 2" eyepieces.

  3. Hope my scope arrives tomorrow, apparent clear skies tomorrow evening.

  4. Hope to have my first go at imaging tonight if it stays clear.

  5. Hunting around the flat looking for stuff to sell to purchase a used Celestron C8 without much joy.

Funny, you think you have plenty to sell but when it comes to it, you can never find anything.

  7. I know there is still 2 and a half months left in the year but I'm beginning to think winter 2014 is going to be a write off.

Autumn has been a write off so far, praying for some cold crisp winter nights

Going by some clear skies I've seen at 5:30am, when it gets here it should be good! I hope....

  8. I really am sick and tired of this! Showing clear all day, go out this evening to do my first lot of imaging and it's foggy. Could quite easily sell up and go back to offroading, at least I can do that in rubbish weather.

Sorry to hear that, it's frustrating when the forecast teases but doesn't deliver. Those clear night when the kit all works do make up for it.

Our weather is part of the reason I dislike the cry to buy the biggest scope you can. One may be nice but an 80mm refractor or 127 Mak will get used a lot more. Best to consider "astronomy" as an occasional hobby, at least the actual observing aspect.

All the large stuff is going to be packed away until I move to somewhere with a garden where it will get more use.

  9. I really do hope the Star Adventurers turn up soon. Feeling rather left out with all these wildefield images being taken plus I have a couple of new lenses to try out.

  10. I think the scopes are going to be packed away until my dark skies holiday in September.

But you will miss regular views of targets like the Dumbell nebulae........etc !

I don't really have the correct type of scopes for DSO.

  11. I want my Celestron Starsense to be delivered.

  12. I will get this setup complete even if it kills me. 1 hiccup after another.

  13. I've had a very unsuccessful couple of nights. Not happy.

It does suck, getting fed up now. May sell up and get the very large fish tank I'm after. Fish keeping it a lot easier.

      JessicaFaye

haha! Sounds like a plan, we have a lovely tank! Has been a few problems along the way with dominant fish though! :D

      No clear skies last night.

What I meant by ready was that I've got everything now that I need to start imaging.

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

Same here I just need my gear to get delivered now so I can start imaging again , clear skies for both of us mate, but u know what comes with new gear..... Lol :(

  16. In a way I'm glad the new batch of Star Adventurers have been delayed. With the poo poo weather we have been having I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway.

  17. In South Wales for a few days. Looking very clear tomorrow night, chance of frost.

  18. It's looking highly unlikely I will have my Star Adventurer for my dark skies holiday next week. :

  19. Its no wonder we have seriously bad weather with everyone getting new scopes.

  20. Jessops online ordering is driving me mad! Won't let me change delivery address.

  21. Just been messing with EOS Utility, what a great piece of software.

I was having a play with the APT demo and couldn't get the hang of it so that's why I thought I would try EOS Utility. Glad I did.

    3. tingting44

      tingting44

APT really is a great program, just need to use it a couple of times to get your head around the settings and plans :)

Speak to Yoddha (on SGL) Ivo is the author - he was very helpful and the tool is far better than EOS utility once you have that initial learning curve complete.

  22. Just fitted my Telrad. That thing is huge.

    1. AlexB67

      AlexB67

I know. I had to settle for the rigel in the end on my flextube. Not that the telrad wouldn't have fitted, but it would have been a whole lot more hassle. No doubt they are great things, but biiiig :D

  23. Just give us 2 nights of clear skies please!

    1. ronin

      ronin

OK, one in May the other in October. Both mid-week only.

  24. Just had my Telrad delivered for the C8, now lets see what all the fess is about with them.
