Very nice, Gerry. One of my most used EPs is the 9mm BGO. Think you're going to like it, just watch out that in that freeze you have, your eyeball doesn't stick to the glass :-)

      Alls well!

I gave the regulator and supply line a light go with my heat gun and 10 min later it went. The house was warm with the woodstove but I have to take care of the waterlines.

I would imagine frostbite takes hold pretty quickly in those temperatures  Gerry, we don’t want you losing any of your digits ❄️

      It is a concern!

There are a few things IMHO- I believe we cold adapt and once winter sets in it is a lot easier on us than when it first starts- I was very hot working outside in my sled suit and if you keep your head, feet and core warm it helps the hands. Not to say that you can't get frostbite...

Shaun, thanks for the concern ! :hippy2::grin:

ps I hope I didn't just unleash a torrent of one liners I can't keep with lol!

I can never remember the letter settings for each EP so I just set it somewhere in the middle, except for big EP's with filters which will touch the glass if not extended a bit. That's on an f4 dob, never noticed any coma with it even in 100° EP's

Nice one Gerry ? it would be good to hear about the differences it makes when used in different scope types.

Thanks Paul! I really hope I can see a gravitationally lensed quasar with individual components showing, this has been a goal for a while. Fingers crossed.

  5. The 1.25" NPB works and well. Tonight under less than optimum conditions it pulled out very good structure in the Rosette... using the 25mm TV plossl,200mm F3.8.

      Pig

LoL ... and how was it Gerry ? :happy7:

    3. jetstream

      jetstream

Unbelievable views Shaun! The binos give such good low power views I generally stay there, under 230x roughly. The ability to get great views at low power makes the scope less sensitive to seeing so to speak- the view at 70x in the binos still reveals piles of fine detail.

All my scopes respond very well to the Binotron 27's

    4. Pig

      Pig

I bet they were great views Gerry, 230x is pretty high mag and proceedings can get a bit wobbly at times :happy7:
I have viewed the Moon a few times with binos and I must agree they are pretty impressive, after all two eyes are better than one :happy8:
