  1. I'm going to have a look for some older flats that I would have taken with the camera and ED80 but 0.85x reducer, and compare them to yours. I used the QHY9 with 1.25" filters down to F4.7 so I'm surprised there are issues at F6.
  2. I dont get staring at something for hours though, seems like an incredibly pointless exercise? Your beach analogy - neither of us get to walk on the beach - I take a photo and you get to look at it through a piece of glass - but none of us actually get to walk on it. Little difference really.
  3. Yes I donโ€™t like the way it displays part of the range. I think you can click the buttons below the graph - log, auto str L auto str R and clear - to change the range.
  4. @Rustang that histogram looks ok. The scale is 1-34k not 0-65k. You could try 25000 for your ADU, see if that helps.
  5. I didnโ€™t even realise they had a camp site there! That would be handy alright ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
  6. Welcome to SGL! There are a few NI members on here. Iโ€™m Cookstown based myself, doing a bit of work at Davagh, where are you at yourself? Adam.
  7. Are you centering with the controller and not undoing the clutches to manually move it after starting alignment process?
  8. Just sent you a message! Sorry was slow getting back to you.
  9. It doesnโ€™t plug directly into a pc, this goes into a control hub such as in my case the Hitec astro mount hub pro.
  10. Really great capture Reggie, thanks for sharing. Adam.
  11. Ok, so I bought the scope with a Moonlite focuser but it also came with the original focuser. I struggled with double diffraction spikes from day one when exactly 'in focus', and in the end sent the Moonlite focuser back over the the USA for an upgrade as it was a older model. In the mean time I fitted the OEM focuser. It came with the optional microfocuser knob. The OEM focuser in my view was shocking, although others have had a much better experience. It had a lot of slop in it when changing directions, making it impossible to focus. I refitted the new Moonlite which was setup by Ron before posting over, immediate improvement. Up until recently I have been manually focusing with a Bhatinov mask and I have not found any problems doing so. The last night I was out I set up the autofocus routine and it seemed to work fine so I'll stick with that from now on. I have some tilt to sort out, but that can wait until I get another clear night. Here is a picture of my new Moonlite focuser in 'violet' colour. Adam.
  12. ~Thanks Peter ๐Ÿ‘
  13. Thanks Tristan. The 2600MC really is a brilliant camera.
  14. Cheers! Yea I just selected a fixed 100x100px selection box and systematically went through the image picking the more obvious ones
  15. I thought this was a nice galaxy, a little small for me setup, but still something a bit different to give a go. NGC4216 and associated galaxies. 22 x 300s ZWO2600MC = 1 hour 50 minutes. The lack of data is evident in the colour of the main galaxy. Thanks for looking! C+C welcome Adam.
  16. I used Starnet to remove the stars, it works pretty well, but it does leave diffraction spikes. I 'think' I used the healing tool set to very low pixel size and went over the fine diffraction line and it blended it out.
  17. Really different take on M31, and truly fascinating Peter, thanks for sharing this for all to enjoy.
  18. Here is my M108. It was taken with the OSC ZWO2600MC and 250PX (1200mm at F4.7). Lacking some of the detail seen in eg @kirkster501 M108 with the TEC140, but still impressed with the variety and detail in the background galaxies throughout, including the pair behind the star at the top right of the image. 45 x 300s subs giving 3 hours 45 minutes of data. Processed in APP and PS. C+C welcome. Regards Adam.
  19. Thank you all for your comments. @tomato as Scott has correctly pointed out, this was with the OSC version. I've have been thoroughly impressed with it, and during galaxy season I just used it on a 250px and found it to be so simple to use compared with the mono and RGB filters.
  20. Here is an image I took of M81 with a 250px and ZWO2600 Processed in APP and PS. I think there was around 12 hours of data in total over a few nights, 180s subs. I could spend more time on processing it, but this is as much as I can do right now. C+C welcome Adam.
