@Saganite DM sent. My settings on the web page are wrong. Now noticed on your photos showing the config - joystick direction options show the word "normal" and both have a dropdown box option. My joystick settings just show as a zero on both and no dropdown box option at all. I have no DB box at the bottom of the config screen either . Very strange John

Steve. @Saganite You have opened a can of worms here with me re the photos. How do you get to see on screen the info from photos 2 & 3 my friend ??? Picture 1 does look familiar as it's the HOME screen ?? but on my I Phone all I ever see is stars named stars. No constellation lines or Messier objects etc. I've been able to use the search option to find stars and set up the mount BUT ????? I presume the reason is that I have never seen the info on photo number 2 where you enable databases. Could you give me an idiots guide on how to see the Enable databases screen. As you know we met at IAS and I had already had a word with the Rowan guys but I was left non the wiser. Guess I didnt explain myself correctly. From the home screen I seem to be running V1.0.4 of the software. I've downloaded the last update V 4.4 I think and the mount has rebooted but I'll be blowed as to how to get to the enable databases screen. Thanks in advance and to anyone else who can direct me. Users issues as usual with yours truly John

Duplex Moon Atlas by Ronald Stoyan

I have to agreed as well. Got a copy earlier this week and I have just given it first light I guess. Very easy to use - clearly well thought out. Pity Luna wasn't quite with me during the session. Very "wobbly bob" seeing. John -
Just swallow Stu. That swift was at 20k feet at least 😂😂😂

Are you a member of the Magic Circle ?? These images are excellent. John

Betting Garry @garryblueboy has a 140 frac tho given his reply to my earlier question LOL John

Gary. Have you had a 128 during your telescope journey fella ? Regards. John

Hello. Rather nice Peli type case from Amazon this morning. Not a Peli type price either. My Lacerta Herschel wedge and it’s filters seem rather pleased. John
-
Hello Stu. Since having mine, I've done WL solar viewing with no issues if this helps with your decision. Best views have so far been with a solar continuum filter in the light path. ATB John

've only just noticed that mine doesn't have the Tak writing on the Dew shield. I've never seen one without it, but the scope is 25 years old and may be missed out on later niceties? Mike. Hhmm. A bit odd. Mines a 1999 scope and has the dewshield decal but then @F15Rules version has the word Takahashi on the tube. Mine doesn’t. Go figure ?? John
-
Stu. Got to give @F15Rules the shout re these adapters. The Tak ring was already in place when I bought mine and Dave tipped me off re the ultrashort ring. Think this about as good as it gets re in focus. John

Gents. I have to take the 5th amendment on this. Ta. John

Stu. Yes. A 2001 scope. Mine is a 1999 same as @F15Rules Agree with the clamshell comments. I’m normally a tube ring fan. Converted with this scope. Got myself a ADM D Series Universal Dovetail bar for Takahashi 11" from FLO. Connects very solidly and without issues to my AZ100. Also saw an advert on ABS last night. Chap looking for a nice frac and he mentions a LZOS 130. Just sayin. Look forward to your first light report. Seen that @mikeDnight is now back owning this scope too. Regards. John

Nice one @Stu Welcome to the FS128 owners club. Looking good. Would this be the one I found on e Bay ?? It has disappeared from my watch list on that site - LOL Have you got a serial number. Interested to know where in the production run it lies compared with mine and Daves @F15Rules. John 👍👍👍

Back in business hey, Mike. Welcome back to the club. Excellent Regards John

Hello. Just a heads up as I’ve just come across this scope. I am not linked to the sale in any way Thx. John https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/Takahashi-Telescope/74927/bn_7023491791

You beat me to it @Elp - thinking back on my ex partner. Im happily single these days. I will comment no further. John -
Hello. This actually arrived yesterday afternoon and amazingly I got first light within the hour. Lacerta Brewster-angle Herschel Wedge 2 inch version from 365 Astronomy. I took a decision on this as wanting to make full use of my Tak FS 128 on Mr SOL. Was getting good views with a Seymour filter. Remembered seeing a post a while ago from @johninderby who bought one for his Bresser 127 frac. He was happy with it's performance and if it's good enough for John, enough said. Rather wallet friendly too compared with other options. It's a substantial bit of kit. I've used with and without a solar continuum filter and also with a polarizing filter. Great views. Only slight downside is that I cannot quite get native focus with my Maxbright binoviewers. In focus just a few mm’s short. Once I add a barlow nosepiece I'm back in business with the BV's. Anyway. Very happy with the latest addition to my kitbag. ( Don't really do baked beans but Rice pudding - bring it on !!!!!! ) John

One of my favourite photos of Sir Patrick Moore

Blimey @John That photo kicked off a memory or two. I have a astro book that I bought as maybe a 10 yr old back in the 70's. How to recognize the Stars by the main man himself SPM and Lawrence Clarke. This photo adorns the front and back cover. Bought at the planetarium at Alton Towers. Family trip each year to Alton Towers and was the only place I could get a "astro fix" at that time. Was magical. Think was only the 2nd astro book I'd bought by then. First was the Ladybird book - The Night sky - I still have that to hand too. Rather mad to think how far things have moved on since. Thank you John -
