  1. Mike. I agree wholeheartedly with this post 🀣🀣🀣🀣 John
  2. Hello Jeremy. My 128 was made the same year as Dave’s @F15Rulesbut it only has a β€œdecal” on the dewshield. Nothing on the actual telescope tube. John πŸ‘
  3. Like this sentence as well. Enjoy your gear Russ. John
  4. Hello Russ. Great to see you back under the stars Best comment I've noted on here for a very long time. Goes for all astro gear as far as my wallet is concerned. Get what you can and what your budget allows and then use it as well as you can. John
  5. Hello Steve. Getting closer to pulling the trigger on one of these. Reviews seem very positive. Trust all is well with you. Regards. John
  6. Or should I say at 3.30 pm - VENUS for the Very First Time in full daylight !!!!!!!!! Absolutely bonkers to be quite honest. Great view too. Got some hints of clouds. Much better than the bright orb we all usually get once Le Sol has set. Actually started out as a Solar session as I'd decided against a bike ride. Got the tripod nice and level for my AZ100 and did the normal set up process. After a good half hour on the sun, suddenly thort why not give the mount a shot at finding Venus. 30mm EP in place. Very thin high cloud bobbing about. Set up Venus as next target and hit the GoTo button - BINGO. Felt very very Odd. Able to play around with EP's and Binoviewers without fumbling about in the dark. Talk about a complete revelation. Unable to try Jupiter and Mercury as time had passed and cloud was forming for my western horizon but will give it another go when I can. John is now grinning from ear to ear. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
  7. Thank you both. I’ll give both options a look. Regards. John
  8. Hello. Bit of help please AZ100 owners. I've never been able to get the app to show the sky in the direction to which I am facing. Have been able to do alignments but as the app seems to permanently face south I'm somewhat limited in my choices of alignment stars. Other apps I use - eg Sky safari have a "compass" option which rotates your view if you are facing north, south, east or west. Presuming something is switched "off" in some way and I am missing something blindingly obvious but thats just me all over πŸ˜ƒ Any suggestions appreciated. Thx John
  9. Hello. Just in from a couple of hours worth of EP time. Been a while yet again. Began with Venus. Nice views. BV's in use with a polarizing filter. Phase in full view. Could be a marking or two but unsure. Mercury already departed past next doors roofline. As, of course, clear sky and everyones friend ze Moon is with us. Lets go !! Decided to concentrate on the Aristarchus area and Schroters Valley. Aristarchus in half shadow. Looks real black. Valley practically on the terminator. The Herodotus Mountains just popping into the sunlight. Look like 3 "lights" all in a row !! Agricola mountains also showing clearly too with the similar lighting in play. The half crater Prinz nicely lit. Been using a book - Discover the Moon by Lacroux and Legrand to help me with names and info. Finding it to be a help in locating and recognizing features. Has made lunar viewing much more rewarding. Nice session for sure. A quiet evening with little wind and nicely warm with only a beenie on the old cranium required, rather than full the battledress required over the winter. Could be on for another go tomorrow. Guess I've just jinxed it. I'll apologise now just in case. John
  10. Lovely stuff Gary. Had the non motor version back in the early 90's. Bought from Scope City in Liverpool. Remember the weight as I tried to get the heavy box in the car. Got me started again with the hobby after being a kid / teenager. Thanks for posting. John

  18. Hello. Think I ran across this guy last year via an advert I was running on ABS at the time. I was selling a scope and basically he came at me asking for my "rock bottom" price. Had to confirm the price was on the advert. I didn't take offense in any way as he wasn't meeting my price. Just fishing and everyone wants a bargain don't they. Lately, anything I sell seems to get a " would you take so much for it" e mail on any adverts I post. I do try and price fairly but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Personally I don't do this. If I 'm happy with the price on the advert I'll pay it in full. If not, I move on. I think most sellers try and price accordingly. The way of the world I guess. Sigh !! John Mods - if this post against forum rules, I apologize. Please remove if you see fit. Thx
  19. Fantastic !! Understated finish on these scopes. Enjoy John
  20. As per Dave. @F15Rules Excellent description. No tube rings required πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. No matter what price you advertise a piece of kit at, all enquiries will ask if any wiggle room on the price !!
  22. if you get patchy cloud of a night, whatever you want to view will be behind the cloud. @cajen2 This law was found on the Rosetta Stone. Egyptians had the same issue πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  23. Looking forward to this. Hopefully bump into a few other peeps from this site @F15Rules @Saganite @mikeDnight @paulastro Tak FS128 owners past and present club LOL Roll on the 11th John
  24. Thanks Gary. No further additions required. πŸ‘ John
