Yes thats right,i had to buy sharpcap,but a tenner well spent,yes think your right about the guide assistant.......to be honest i cant remember the routine as its been a while from i done it.

I would suggest polar aligning using sharpcap first,the polar scope can be badly off,and then in phd use the guide assistant and let this run its course,and at the end it will give you suggested seettings for youe guiding.

Would say a drone or a helicopter in the distance.

So your the reason for the cloud..😁.....nice scope you will see plenty with it.

Would it help if you tighten the primarys adjusting srews up as this will lower the primary mirror a bit for you.

Its not the sensor on the camera is it.......you wouldnt really see specs on the mirror showing up in a pic taken through a camera.

Hello all had a great sky last night,although the moon was out,but nice all the same,had great guiding with 300 sec subs, I got 2 hours of the Cresent neb but with my basic gimp and basic processing knowledge i thought i would have had a better image than i did,so was wondering could any one see what they can get out of my data, 20x300 sec lights. 20x bias. 20x flats. cresent.TIF

8" sct and a 12" f5.3 dob,really good value.

I owned a 7mm TS HR eyepiece which give me probably the best views i ever had of Saturn,easily as good as my BGO,dont know why i did not replace it.....actually lost the eyepiece.

Glad you got it sorted,had the same problem,turned out it was,nt supported in Win 8.

Are you using Win 8 by any chance?
