  1. Brilliant....thats amazing Vlaiv, when you know what you are doing makes a world of difference.....what programe did you do all this in.
  2. A latest attempt, guessing really at what i am doing...
  3. Thank you, thats very kind of you to show me that,i am a bit of a dummy when it comes to this,i will give it a go.
  4. Hi Vlaiv,i stacked in DSS,and yes DSLR and around 48 subs,im happy with your image, but not mine,i could'nt get near what you got,is it basic stretch in colours you used.
  5. Finally git a nice clear sky last night, allowing me to image m31 from around 11 until around 3,getting around 4 hours of subs at 300 secs each. Surely thats a decent amount to time to to reasonably happy, for me,to have something to show for it. I am only using Gimp to process and know i really need something better, but cant really afford to get the more expensive software. Am i wasting my time doing AP with what i have.I know i have something there but just cant get the data out with what i have. My finished pis is not much different than my single sub. I have attached my TIF in case any one wants to see what they can do. Paul and.TIF
  6. Looks good.....but the star test will let you know for sure.
  7. Be carefull when loosening the rings that the ota does'nt slip and hit the ground, you would be better getting another ring and placing it under the lower ring and keeping it tight, therefore allowing you to loosen the main rings enough to let you rotate the scope to where ever is comfortable to view.
  8. On the astro side,i feel for you,i would give my kidney to have a rural location, obviously you have your personal reason,so good luck on the move.
  9. If we are not weird enough looking at night, when I go out to the obsy I runout waving my arms around my head until i get there as I have to go under clothes lines thar are covered with lines of cobwebs stretching to what seems like every part of the garden......scary we things, spiders.
  10. Well worth the wait......nice one
  11. Dont know how this will go,but its all nicely balanced and may save me changing things in the dark it i want to just view or do AP......will see how it goes.
  12. Had intended to shoot this for over 2 hours, but for some reason after around half an hour phd and APT stopped working and only realised this when i went to check on things. Any way this is the result of 18 x 90 sec subs,so will look forward to trying this on another night with out any gremlins.
  13. Cracking image,i attempted this last night only to find when i checked on the scope, after 2 hours, and after about 5 subs, for some reason phd and APT stopped working,
  14. In my experience with the two fl you are interested the 12mm is a great eyepiece but the 25mm to me, was'nt that great. The 8mm was excellent.
  15. No need to appologise,i have been at this for over 40 years and am still learning things everyday.
  16. Its really not venus mate, even if it was it would'nt show up like that,it would'nt be a disc it would be a point of light,it is a reflection.
  17. Clear here, but a bit windy, seeing isnt great but just had a look and the GRS is just on view, hopefully the air will steady in the next hour.
  18. If you can turn the primary in its cell, this can tell you if it might be the primary,if the de focused star pattern turns as the mirror is turned then it will be the primary,if not then it will be the secondary.
