Can anyone tell me when the next copy of Astronomy Now is released, I subscribed a week ago and just wondering when my first copy will arrive?

Yes, read it and took it to my astro socirty meeting last night and it got snaffled up along with the Sept S@N mag.

I often find i've still not finished the last months reading before the new ones arrive - this usually spurs me along to catch up. I also get confused [which is easily done] as i'll be reading what wonderful event is foing to happen on a certain date, but then realise it's not for another month, or if i've got copies mixed up, realise I missed it

I spoke to someone at a public out reach event recently and he was interested in astronomy, but hadn't done anything about it. I'd suggested he have a look at both AN and S@N magazines, and he said "I have done, but they don't seem to contain much about astronomy" which made me laugh and I had to agree - there is a lot of stuff which the jobbing observational astronomer might not be interested in, but then i'm not sure if they'd find sufficient material to fill a monthly magazine otherwise.

I reckon that Nick's (Cotterless') observing notes and sketches could fill a monthly journal!!

Come to think of it. SGL could put together a pretty formidable editorial team.

 James- I'm exactly like you,still working my way through the September issue.

  Though there's still events to be explored before the month is out,and I was particularly interested to read the article about the early morning line up of Venus,Mars and Jupiter.
