Jupiter, Io and Callisto, Oct 1st

A quick process before bed. Good seeing tonight but variable transparency, eventually degrading to very poor.

Callisto is visible below the planet while Io and its shadow are in transit.

Great shot Pete. I was out tonight trying to get enough shots for an Io transit .gif but the conditions went totally to pot about 40 minutes short of the moon exiting Jupiters disk.

Super smashing lovely photo. 'twas good seeing tonight but I only caught a few glimpses between the clouds.

Why does Io's shadow have a bright ring around it. Cant be the penumbra as it would be darker than surrounding SEB surely ?

Thanks for confirming this i could see both moons in my etx 125 last night. the visibility was super last night in Cambridge and i was able to push the mags
