Clear skies?

Will these cloudy skies ever disappear, got my scope a few weeks ago a few new eyepieces, all i need is some clear skies, frustrating.

I know how you feel, I got my new scope over 5 weeks ago and havn't had chance to use it yet, I have had a fortnights holiday (cruising the Med) during this period where we had some of the darkest clearest skies I have ever seen!! Sod's Law I suppose?

Alas, this is the price you pay for purchasing Astronomical equipment. It is common knowledge that if someone buys a new bit of kit they and everyone else will have at least 2 weeks of pea soup

Stellarium,, fine though it is, gets a bit stale night after night and when the clear skies do come whats the betting im on nights.

its been pretty clear here for the past few nights now its mucky as outside 100% cloud cover all day and a bitingly cold wind

Set up tonight at 6:30pm under beautiful clear skies, not a breath of wind. As darkness fell I watched the clouds roll in with it! Very frustrating! Just a few minutes peep at Jupiter and her moons before packing up

Still good practice I suppose , if nothing else.

I have not seen a hint of clear skies in about 6 weeks.

It was OK in East Devon - quite a good night, very still, good seeing. I was able to do a couple of hours. Sounds like I was a bit lucky. Hope it clears for you all soon. Ed

Clear near Southampton but seeing even worse than two weeks ago. You know it's real bad when not only do the stars at zenith twinkle madly but Jupiter too. Jupiter was nothing more than a wobbly single stripe frazzle.

cleared up about midnight last night so popped out for about an hour now looking at clear skies so fingers crossed for tonight
