Hi All:

I have made a mosaic of Mare Crisium, as a first attempt to create a mosaic.

The idea behind this project was to see how far can I go by concentrating in a lunar area, and try to push the limits of my mak, I tried to figure out what is the smallest features that is named in Rukl Sky&Telescope map and VMA that I can confirm.

The smallest: Cleomedes F (6x6 km, VMA)

Location:

My backyard in Liverpool, 24-09-10, around 23.00

Some clouds, but in general very good conditions, seeing 5-6/10

Set up:

Skymax 102 goto

Lifecam HD + Barlow 2x (SW issue)

Imaging:

4 avis between 1-1.3 min, at 10 FPS, 640X480, producing 300-400 frames stacked with registax. Same wavelets applied to all the tiles.

Mosaic:

Assembled with iMerge and converted to grayscale with Paintshop pro.

2 files: The mosaic and the mosaic with labels.

Interestingly, the diameter of Mare Crisium is almost the same distance from London to Glasgow, to put things into perspective.
