Hi all,

I had another go at this with some noise reduction which has also allowed me to turn up the illumination nearer the terminator where it was a bit dark. I think it's an improvement so see what you think...

I've also cropped and rotated some sections with the limb at the top on some to give a more natural perspective. With the whole of the Moon to play with I got a bit carried away so there are quite a few to chose from... Some sections had better seeing which invited a small increase in scale for easier interpretation -

The detail is simply astounding. My older boy loves it because the crater Henry, which he likes to think was named after him (he's 9), is so clear. I've now been given the challenge of emulating this myself or printing out your image for his wall. I'll certainly have a go but since I'm unlikely to emulate your image any time soon I hope you wouldn't mind me printing this of for his room.

Many thanks all, your comments are very much appreciated! :o

Myles - I used a homebuilt 10" f4.8 Newtonian telescope and a Lumenera Infinity 2-1M camera with a 5x Powermate.

Mike - I used 33 AVIs (1392x1040) for the 28 panels (some doubled up in an attempt to reduce noise, some used only in part to fill in gaps - seems there was always that extra bit just out of sight that needed to be covered by one more AVI!)

Geoff - Of course please do, thanks - it's nice to know your boy likes it that much!

Regards,

Stefan

Many thanks again all!

Martyn - Certainly, please feel free. As far as I'm concerned anyone can download or print any of my images for personal or non commercial use, of course it's very flattering if someone wants to do that.

Regards,

Stefan
