This is my first image since March, and my first with the Atik 383L+. Oh and my first automated image. A good night all in. Over 2 hours worth just before the cloud rolled in.

This desktop gave me a huge grin, everything running smoothly at long last. Hit "play" then go to sleep

Scope: Skywatcher Equinox 80 with Televue TRF-2008

Mount: EQ6 with EQMOD

Guiding: Orion ST80 with QHY5

Capture Software: CCD Commander, Maxim DL

Processing Software: Deep Sky Stacker, PixInsight

Exposures: 17 x 900 secs (4 Hours 15 Mins)

Dithering: 1 pixel per sub

Calibration: 50 x 3 sec flats

Managed the flat frames today which has smoothed it out at the edges, also been using a bit of PixInsight magic in there

I've been having a play with my new best friend called PixInsight. The HDR Wavelets, Dark Structure Enhance and ACDNR Noise Reduction are superb. I've been introduced to Deconvolution as well which has made a huge difference to this one as it was really badly tilted due to some adapter failures.

I'm having trouble getting anywhere to host this beast at a decent size, if I compress it anymore too much detail gets lost. Any tips on hosting big images would be appreciated!

In the meantime I've hosted it on my own blog, it might take a while to load, but it's worth it

Great, though the stars in the first one have no trace of dark halo around them and for me they are starting to show on the second. Bit too much unsharp mask? But what stunning resolution. The ED80 marches on!
