Im A Newbie so don't know if I Have Posted this in the right place:confused:

Just putting the feelers out to see if

Anyone Would be interested in a under the stars meet

at Boston area.off the beaten tracks,

This Place is where it started me off wanting a Telescope years ago.

(its friends of ours who own the property)

The Sight I Got just with my naked eye,was Absolutly Fantasic.

Nice Clear skies with No street light's its very dark at night There,

And Plenty of scope, and Camping,

Limited E.H.U Though,

Maybe £10 ?? A Tent for the weekend Fri-Sun.

I Was thinking: September: ?? October: ??

Will Need Feedback from this as Date's

and how many interested.

I Know there is plenty of time

but was just seeing if enough people was interested.

To Give it a go ahead.

Theres Plenty of camping space,say enough for about 50 tents,

I Would like to tell the owner

(a very good friend) asap roughly numbers interested.

as its his property,so very private

they are also into astronomy.

I Have put a pic on not very good,It was taken Aug bank holiday

5yrs ago,but it gives you the idea.

Also if everyone likes the area,and enjoy there stay,

I Can sort this out for a few rallies/meets in the year.

So what do you all think?

I'm sure you will get some responses, but what facilities are there if any. Is there water handy, a toilet perhaps/, just basic stuff if people are staying a weekend. If the facilities are available, and listed. you will get a lot more interest perhaps.

Sorry Yes Toilet, Water, and I Think theres a Shower,

Nearest shop is about 5 mins drive,

so bring your own food etc.

I Can find out where the nearest chippy is.

Or I Could get the chip pan out on sat night chip butties all round..lol

Great idea - but make sure you check up on SGL6, Kelling, and Thetford star party dates so you don't clash - just about anyone who's anyone in amateur astronomy will be at those lol

For say later in the year,when the dark nights come in.

and you could stay the night or weekend,if wanted.

At the moment the nights are too light and too short so a lot of people will just be doing regular (non astronomy) holidays.

When the nights get longer and darker towards autumn is when the interest starts to grow. But then you get all the organised equinox star parties up and down the country to compete with.

So don't despair - it's just a matter of timing. From end of August onwards till late March and early April I would think you'll get more responses.

Also - better to advertise in the "organised star parties" thread

(Btw we're still up for it - even just for the chilli lol)

It looks like the star party at Boston is going ahead in October so if you want to sort something out for say November I am sure there will be several of the same ganag would be interested in having a similar meet at Sutton on Sea! Star gazing with Fish and Chips............lovely!!

its just a get together weekend under the stars with binoculars and telescopes

I Am new to all this and hoping and praying Someone will come who can point us in at least in the Right direction,

but if not Im sure it will be a laugh,

all us not having a clue,and fumberling about in the dark,

And its a safe site,and were friendly,and your welcome.

and if we fail we will have had a laugh a drink and a weekend away.
