Hello, I'm new!

Hi,

I took up astronomy as a new past-time in the summer of 2009, I'm still quite clueless but loving it! Joined local astronomical society, so I'm learning bit by bit. Keen to learn and soak up as much as poss. Have recently inherited a Bresser Messier - cannot figure out the equatorial mount it's driving me nuts (lol)

Those EQ mounts can be a little confusing, try setting it up during the day and get used to its motion.

Hi Jen - welcome to the group (from Leicester) - There's an East Mids section of SGL you may be interested in joining (look under communities).

If the E/Q mount is still driving you nuts - concentrate on getting it polar aligned - makes things much easier
