Dusting off the Toucam

Don't normally use the Toucam for anything other than the Moon, but tried it in Saturn last night.

This was my final effort using a 4x Imagemate, Baader IR filter, etc, etc. About 1000 frames processed in Registax 5.

The seeing seemed poor to my untutored eye, but the end result was much better than I expected.

First image is normal size and the second resized to 150%.

That is excellent!

I had a go at Saturn last night and the results were so poor that I wouldn't even post them.

The rings are nicely defined. Also the banding on the disc is quite distinct.

Very nice indeed!

Thanks for the kind words folks. The AVI didn't look that promising so it either shows that I haven't a clue what I'm doing (likely) or how good the new version of Registax is (definitely).

Scope was Orion Optics Europa 250mm F4.8.

I'm going to take good care of the Toucam. If it ever breaks I shall blub uncontrollably. There may be (and are) better cameras but it still does a pretty good job.
