These videos are great - thanks for sharing - the mismatched subtitles are surreal (Youtube still need to work on that tech).  I had never appreciated the craft that goes into these (classic Japanese eye for detail though!).  I wonder if there are any videos from AP or TEC or Televue manufactories?

I noticed that from the first video posted but was surprised that the sand castings had runners but no risers..they did have a lot of sacrificial metal in the pattern though.

The flourite elements will be Canon not sure about the others by why wouldn't you..

I'd imagine Canon Optron produce all the refractor objectives, as they produce large multi element camera objectives, not always fluorite. Plus they are a known quantity and so could be relied upon to keep the very high standard required.
