32mm ... 1.25" fitting EP 👽

Recommended Posts

I brought along my 32mm GSO/Revelation Plossl to Nebraska for the 2017 eclipse where it worked fine for widest field views in my ST80.  It has very sharp optics, great coatings, a sharp field stop, and is very reasonably priced.  I've never had blackout issues with it, either.

I'd second this, found it a very nice EP to use..  Only replaced it with the green and black one, because i was collecting the set of plossls.. not for any other reason.

Found a review of the GSO vs Baader and the Baader was a little better. Apparenty the Baader has an adjutable field stop so it can be adjusted to suit your eyesight.  So not a lot in it and may come down to the best price.

I seem to struggle with 32mm Plossls as I find it like looking down a torpedo tube, though I have used a pair of Celestron Omni 32mm Plossls in the past.

More recently, I've been using a pair of Vixen NPL30s which I find very comfortable to use in BVs with the Lunt, I think its the adjustable eyeguard that makes the difference for me.

Not 32mm I know, but close enough for my needs.

I compared the Baader 32mm Classic Plossl with the Vixen NPL 30mm. I slightly preferred the Vixen. I did not use them for solar observing though.

Thanks Guys ... I'm not sure about the Baader as I prefer slightly bigger bits of glass

to look down upon ... I am giving some serious consideration to the 30mm NPL as I

have the 25mm version and it's ok (also a Celestron 32mm omni) but currently using a

TV 32mm plossl and I'm not getting on with it for some readon .

They have such a lot of eye relief that I found that I needed to add a TV eye cup extender to position my eye correctly and consistently to get the best out of the TV 32mm plossl.
