Robin,

Those IR filter modifications are certainly worth doing. The appeal of DSLRs is their simplicity, but the down side is the savage IR filters installed. My first Horse Head was attempted with an unmodified DSLR and is was not as nice as the image you have posted here.

Thanks Guys, I was pleased as well. The turning points in my imaging have be the Canon Mod, the CG5 Equitorial mount in my new Obsy and now the new DSLR remote software which is so easy to focus, frame & capture. Marcel from the Adur AS put me on to it.

The settings were 30 subs @ 50 secs, ISO 1600. SW ED80.

Next time out I will take more to add to what I have now.
