Markarian's Chain revisited

45 x 120s subs (90 mins)

 

Reprocessing this image with new flats has greatly improved it compared to my initial results with underexposed flats taken that night - see the post about the Iris nebula.

Thanks a lot. I was super lucky that it just happened to frame it well as I had no camera angle adjuster that night.

Nice one.    I find it difficult to get definition in any more than one or two of the galaxies.

NGC 4438 is particularly pretty I think. When you boost the colour a lot you can see that the spiral arms are quite blue, but it kills the rest of the image. Would love to do a much closer shot of it if I get a chance.
