I'm currently chomping my way through a mammoth 100 framed animation of the large prominence that occurred on the 28th Sept. It's taking an age to do and at the moment, despite a couple of days working on it, I'm only 45% through the frame set. Here's the first 30 frames collated into an animation.

jeez, not only is that a really cool, well put together pic, it also has scientific merit.

It clearly displays the magnetic loops out of the surace and the ionized plams travelling round it.

So much for the sun being at 'minimum' or there abouts.

This is without doubt, one of the best animations showing the activity of the sun I have ever seen.

Cant image what might be going on in a few years time, nearer maximum

Super
