Hi guys,

After many years of thinking about it, I have finally bought myself a telescope! ( skywatcher 130m) It was only purchased a few nights ago and I have a lot to learn being a complete novice. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to finding out more about astronomy. I managed to get a picture last night using a, 10mm and a barlow, but I am unsure of what I took a photo of to be honest ha ha. Its not very clear but looks pretty cool!

I am from Cardiff, Wales

Hello welcome to SGL, good choice of scope! Honestly my number one tip for astronomy is to have as much patience as possible. Whether you're revisiting an object you have already seen, finding a new object, or imaging using the best equipment in the world, you must have patience. It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when.

Enjoy your stay!
