New AR Coming round 01.08.17

I believe it's VAR 2665 coming back round. (Very Active Region ?)

Looks similar size to AR2665 so could be part2.

Is that what AR stands for ??   ..... I have often wondered, thought it might be a codified way of representing the Solar Cycle etc

This was taken in WL charl hence the over exposer. Still trying to get the hang of that as don't use it very often

Its a bit of a job to get the Exp and Gain correct especially with the cloud filters working 85% of the time.

BTW, can I use the Lunt Wedge on the ED 80. I used the SLT 102 for this.

yer pat it will work good with the ed80 mate, and works good with dlsrs too, I use the canon for full disc and asi120 for close ups. yer darn weather, hope it improves now we have a spot or two. charl.

Will try that next time. Will give my Nikon a go too for full disc.

you might need a barlow with the Nikon, I use a 2x barlow lens cell screwed into the T-adapter with my 1200d, it depends on the sensor size. charl.
