That ED120 is proving very versatile, isn't it ?

I was observing Jupiter at the same time that you were sketching it. The detail was similar with my 130mm refractor but I had to work quite a bit harder to tease it out than on the previous night. As you say, I think there was a lot of heat rising into the air following a pretty warm day.

Fantastic sketches Shane!

I was observing those spots yesterday through the Baader Wedge & Evo 150 and they are the most interesting sports I have seen in months. Glad you captured them in such detail

Unfortunately, Jupiter eluded me again last night due to poor seeing and lots of bright haze when it had moved round to the south west.

Who needs expensive CCD's when a bit of patience and a keen eye is all that's needed. Your sketching skills get more refined every time mate.
