The Solar Chromosphere (Ca-K) - 25th March 2017

Haven't had one of these for a while! Seeing was pretty ropey and there was quite a bit of passing cirrus so pretty pleased with how this has come out. The usual 6 pane mosaic to get the full disk. Shot with the QHY5 / Evostar 120 / Lunt B1200 / Sharpcap and processed in AS!2 / ImPPG / GIMP2.8. I did try proms but am struggling to stack the data as the scope was being battered by the breeze, consequently I never even tried close-ups.

great Ca-K images Dave, the seeing wasn't up to much here, got quite a few vids which don't look too bad when staxed. you have caught some nice detail mate.  thanks, charl.
