End caps for Newts/Dobs

Does anyone know where I can buy something suitable to use as new end caps for my Dob?  It's a 16"  OOUK VX.  The external diameter is 434mm.  I'm sure i've read that people have come up with clever substitutes for these...

They are the same as the ones supplied on the larger SW Flextubes. I had one on my 400P and it was very effective.

I have just made a dust cap for my 10" reflector from some offcuts of MDF one disc the same as the internal dia, the other the same as the outside then glued together and painted black. Looks good and fits nicely.

I use the Astrozap dust covers on my 14" OOUK, purchased from Teleskop-Express. This was the 12" to 14" version, good fit and breathable. Based on the FLO website it might be that the 14" version will best fit your OOUK 16" perhaps, as this scope will be less in circumference than a Skywatcher 16". You could also contact OOUK as they will supply the plastic dust covers. I inquired about this some time ago, quite reasonable to do but a bit costly I think I was quoted £15 each + post. The OOUK plastic covers are fine but some do have a tendency to fairly easily loosen and drop off. With my VX8L I lined the inside rim of one of these caps (the other was fine) with black PVC tape which since has created no problem.

Cool, thanks everyone!  I've ordered a pair of the Astrozap 16" covers from FLO.  The 16" fits diameters from 400mm to 500mm diameter, so I suspect they would fit 16" or 18" scopes.
