Here is another beautiful Native American star chart adapted by Dakota educator Annette Lee. In this installment we see the sky as the Lakota, a Native American Sioux tribe whose members inhabit the Dakota regions in the northern plains of the United States. The Sacred Hoop is AWESOME. There is some good stuff out their on Maori and Pacific Islander's views of the heavens.

I have always been fascinated by the navigational skills of the Pacific Islanders, particularly the long distance travels to and from New Zealand without clocks or maps and just using the Sun, stars and sea .

I agree. It's an amazing skill. Maori skylore is included in Stellarium as well as Lakota and several other cultures. Thanks for your response!
