December 13, 2015, heads up: M-class flare, by the looks of it

I just had a quick look at the sun, and there is a huge flare visible in the eastern half of the disk. In the double-stack view the contrast is huge. Well worth a look.

Completely covered from horizon to horizon with grey cloud here in Northants for the last few weeks, we may get lucky soon  Enjoy the views.

Just had another look and it is still going strong. Huge inverted V, with another bright band beside it.

No chance hear either, looking on solar viewer there is large sunspot making it's way around the limb as well.

Looking at the Met Office 7 day forecast for Hereford we are not going to see the Sun at all. So very envious Michael.

Well spotted Michael, I wished I'd see it - wall to wall cloud here all day today - and for most of next week by the look of it.  It clouded up just after the Sun rose, but I did have my first view of Comet C/2013 Catalina a couple of hours earlier.
