Hi Gez, welcome. I have the same scope and I'm a bit baffled how the scope only has 1 ring. I would avoid using it until it's properly supported as the reason there is 2 rings is to provide adequate anchoring to the mount and keep the ota stationary. With 1 ring the ota will be liable to move and if it snaps will probably write off the scope.

Just to add a silver lining to my doom and gloom I really enjoy my scope and have learned so much with it. I hope you manage to get it sorted fully and enjoy learning with yours as much as I have with mine.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys, this is a great site and has helped me alot in a short period of time :) i have now purchased 2 tube rings and it has made a great difference in the stability of my scope!:) once again thanks everyone :)
