Astroscot2
I took this way back in Jan, one of the last nights I was out imaging, full intended to get the RGB from a dark site but the weather conspired and Orion's way low now in the west. Ive cropped Alnitak and the flame out of the image, I found it quite tricky processing the bright parts of the image with our blowing out the star, Tried masks but the image looked unnatural, any tips would be appreciated or someone else can have a go.The image is around 4 hours all 10 mins subs near my home in Neilston, I can not see orion from my backyard due to my house! centroid
Alnitak does make that a difficult area of the sky to image, but you've done an excellent job.Smooth, detailed, and with nice 'tight' round stars.Well done!!Dave

qcdougn
Most of us would be content to capture just a nice HH image. But, you have included fine detail such as the light, whispy dust around the HH area. I also like the depth of the smaller stars beyond the HH. Very nice mate. Great job. Sam
That's a stunning image - well done. There's a considerable amount of detail in the HH - especially below the head (the neck?). Well done!!!
