..... The south polar cap

As mars move away looks like the polar cap is returning.

I dont know about the rest of you but i prefer ice caps at opposition

so i kind of missed them this season.

Captured On Patrick Moores 15" Newt @ f30 and a mon toucam IR RGB.

(with a little help from my freinds)

I guess this was a parting shot - Until next season.

Well If that's the Mars Swan Song Ed. It's a belter of a bye bye image.

I can only assume Sir Patrick is over the Moon with the performance of his 15" Newt.

The Scope thoroughly deserves It's dome refurbished, and I'm sure the team will do a great job on it.

Ed your pictures of Mars are great, and I'm really surprised by how close my sketches are compared to yours and Trevor's images, I was going to post them but me scanner's decided to act up! I suppose I can take a digital picture of them at the University tomorrow and upload them there.

It was a great night and we must do it again, yhough Pat persuaded me to have a couple more whiskys than I should have had (as usual I have no will power)- "one for the road" he kept saying, I don't think I shall toast spaghetti junction again! Oh the pain...
