Sorry for the intermittant updates but I am keeping things up dated on a spreadsheet at home - I have to admit lately whether the nights are truly observable is anyones guess- when I get to bed around 11'ish if the skies are still clear then their observable but as it never really gets dark this time of year you could argue the meaning of observable but if I can see stars its observable to me :0)

To be honest Mike I quite enjoy the break - gives me something to look forward to when the cold starts to return. I stayed up ridiculously late with a bottle of white last night and the skies were beautifiul and clear but just not dark as we know them- lovely to see some of the constellations though none the less.

Well unbelivably we are sneaking up on to the record observable consecutive nights - currently at 9. We've done this 2 or 3 times over the last 2 years but never exceeded it so heres hoping - having said that I was out until 11pm last night and you had no chance of observing any DSOs whatsoever- still beautiful starry skies none the less.

Well June was a pretty good month in the end, shame its so light until the early hours but good none the less. Looks like we're heading into some fine weather until the weekend which typically looks changeable and cloudy but after that the forecasters are predicting a return to hot and sunny weather- bring it on :0)

    BBC Weather -   July getting off to the perfect start if you can stay up until the very eraly hours- tonight looks promising aswel

Well done Dave for getting out - lovely clear warm night - just too late to get any useable darkness for me but those nights will be here soon enough
