lovejoy visible in evening

Currently able to see lovejoy in bins from 55n , sitting between north horizon and the handle of the plough, for anyone wanting a look.

I hadn't thought of looking for it in the evening. Just had a quick look and even though it's only 7 degrees above the horizon, I could see it clearly with my 8 x 32 bins.

It's certainly been a grand sight this week, despite the Moon, and looking like a real comet (15x70s) rather than just a faint smudge.

How bright is it now. I spotted it a couple of weeks ago as it was rising around midnight. Is it brighter now?

It is low down in the North just of the 'handle' of the plough. Not sure how bright it is though.

Saw it about 6 this evening - still a bright object in 10x50 just under the end star in Ursa Major.  Not as good a view as when high in the sky - but nice to see at a more civilised hour !

ok,I can see the plough (big dipper) so will check there,thanks,by 11.30 the plough is near the zeneth unless I am looking at the little dipper?

Spot on and looking nice from here. Quite easy to spot with 10x50 binoculars and, although somewhat lowdown, rather nice with my 4" refractor 

If it was higher in the sky I think it would be just about naked eye visible tonight.

Clouded out here too. Thanks for posting the map, as the map at Comet Chasing doesn't give positions of Lovejoy beyond Nov 19 or so.

This morning at 03:00 it was stunning - nice fuzzy nucleus with an impression of a fan-shaped tail. Strangely enough, looked better in my 10x50s than my 15x70s. Close to the position in November's AN chart.

Set the alarm clocks early and rise about 5:30 for an early one. Form the UK according to Stellarium she should just be at the end of the plough handle. See screens attached for the early mornings of 27 to the 29th, when it is nice an high up in the sky. I'll be peeping through the curtain and see if it is clear around that time. Forcecast not looking that promising though, there again, it has been somewhat unpredictable lately with clear spells, so you never know.

Bagged Lovejoy on monday night. First with the binos, easy to find. Then with the 6" newt and it showed up very nicely. Great fun since I failed with Panstarrs.
