SharpCap installation problems

When it comes to computers I know enough to to sort most basic things but I'm stuck on this one.

I have downloaded the zip fill and extracted the files, I then click on run program then it displays this message,

This application requiresthe Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 (FULL) to be instgalled in order to run. Please install .NET Framework and then run this installer again.

I have no idea what this mean, could someone please shed a bit of light onto what I need to do please?

There is a similar programme to sharpcap called "firecapture" - it has more things to adjust, and on my laptop it is more stable than sharpcap. But sharpcap is very good.
