20 pane mosaic with vixen pst mod and DMK 31

each pane is 50 of 500 frames with a 55% overlap which takes 17secs for each pane stitched in Autopan giga and processed(messed up) in PS

decided I prefer the mono as my false colour does not add anything

I really like that Steve, managed to avoid the gradients that I suffer with on solar mosaics.

There are some lovely surface details showing- loving the smilie over in the top right quadrant

I think for me the large overlap is getting rid of most of the gradients and sweet spot problems and to be honest for a full disc 50 frames /pane is OK

Superb image and detail just could do with being a bit bigger, surely for 20 panes the image would be quite a bit bigger than it is?

Yes I do click but the image only seems to be about 10cm in size. On the other forum you can post full size you know

Yes it does go through to astrobin but the largest seems to be small for me. The other is Solarchat, when I open the image in a new tab the image is still tiny so you must be only downloading a tiny image? I expect big from a 20 painer

Awesome. It's what I'm aiming for. Out of interest, how on earth do you know you've got a 55% overlap? That sounds quite exact. I've been just moving my scope with the hand controls using The Force (which isn't too reliable as it happens!)

TBH I don't know its 55%

Thats the setting I use in The Sky mosaics tool

It gives me plenty of overlap so it registers and helps cover the sweetspot

There is a discussion about an ASCOM mosaic program on SGL to control the mount, I would imagine that would work quite well
