Just seems silly. You can buy the Tal 100rs in Spain, for example, for around ₤200 new. Second hand, you find them for around ₤150 which I personally think is a bargain with the type of instrument you're buying into.

It looks to me as if the mount in the sale is an EQ3-2 type on the heavier tubular steel tripod.  I think the £250 figure Emad proposes is much nearer the mark.

A CG5 flipped up in altaz like this is way better than an EQ3-2. No idea if it's a fair price or not, but at least it looks nice

it's a bizarre ad. £100 postage, square trade warranty only £85.99. I doubt they will get many bites but with ebay you never know.

I've actually bought (and sold) an item with/to this seller, no problems. But I agree that the price isn't cheap..

You can still get a brand new Tal OTA with all it's bits from ACE Cameras in Bristol (I have no connection with them, but bought one from them about 3-4 years ago, no problems and a lovely scope - which of course I later sold :-(

I'm just in the process of buying one again from another SGL member....when will I ever learn!
