TAL 125R

Hello and welcome. Probably better sticking your question in a different section as not everyone will be looking in the welcome bit. Try slinging it in the beginner equipment section, sure someone will be along to help. These guys know loads!

Cheers, and good to have you on board!

Welcome to the forum sir ...

Had a trawl round and couldn't see any reference to US/Canadian dealers on their site . . . http://www.telescopes.ru/product.html?cat=1 . . . may well be worth an e-mail though.

Would also be an idea to post the question in the Refractor section on Cloudy Nights too , a lot more bodies closer to home so's to speak . . . http://www.cloudynights.com/

There is one available here but I guess the postage would be a bit steep from the UK . . . http://www.scopesnskies.com/bargain-zone.html

Happy hunting . . .

Welcome,

I spent a couple of years searching for one, have to say im sort of glad i did not find one, there are better scopes around, like the 120 ED from skywatcher, even the TAL 100rs would be one to consider

Hi and welcome, refractor.

I had to import my TAL125R from Italy and, frankly, it isn't without problems. When they're good, they're very good though - Neil English's review over on cloudy nights (search "Taming the Tiger") was what persuaded me to look for mine, but note he had problems with his to begin with.

Beware the Apolar version, it has a very complex optics and it doesn't appear to travel well - John here has reviewed that scope and it is worth reading up on it. I suspect the Skywatcher 120 ED/APO (or similar) is a better, more reliable instrument in the same price bracket (or less in fact). As Nighfisher says, the 100RS is worth consideration though, if you don't mind the drop in aperture - a fantastic achromat for its price, assuming you can get one in Canada.

Hope you get what you want though.

All the best,
