I can pilfer a 150w inverter from my wife's car that you can use. Unfortunately she needs it for Sunday. If you use it first and I go before you, you still have battery. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks Tony,

Wasn't feeling bad, but just worn out from the excavation and concrete

work this week; felt too fatigued for the round trip. Glad you had a good

turnout, and the skies were clear.

Cheers

Great sky, clear all night. Winter-like temps though. It was good to meet you all even if I did have my head in PHD for a few hours (without much success). Thanks to Lenny for the loan of a battery, the new top pier build and of course the bread pudding!

Had a really enjoyable evening last night. I finally got to sample the famous bread pudding! Many thanks for that and the rather delicious sausage rolls too. And I got to see Mercury and the Veil nebula. Something to revisit time and again I think. Really looking forward to the autumn skies.

Dave.

My pleasure Mathew, glad I could help out. Thank you for the tour of the nebulae, and the amazing views through your scope.

Also thanks to David for the lend of his filter. Not forgetting Lenny's bread pudding, just like my gran's.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night and meeting up with everyone. Crystal clear skies all night and pleased to get my first proper views of the summer triangle since last year. And I can't remember who said it but cheers for pointing out Mercury, that was a first for me . Always amazes me just how fast the time goes when we're up there, I wonder why five hours in work never goes that fast :icon_scratch:

Thanks for the help and advice, will be sure to try to meet up again, this time bringing a flask and a hat.

See below for an example of how clear it was for us.

Saturday was a fab night, clear skies, good view of milky way, and got to see lots of things I couldn't hope to in my scope thanks to everybody else's patience! Sky just got better and better until about 0200, when the sun started making it's climb again.

Many thanks to Mrs Lenny for the bread pud, Tony for the rolls, and Dave and Mat for the currency (aka jaffa cakes!)

Bagged a whole load of Messiers before scanning the milky way in some binoculars. Great night.

Having just being rather disrespectful to the night sky conditions where I live, I have to confess that I did manage to see the Eastern and Western parts of the Veil Nebula last night. Having said that, they looked somewhat more distinct from Blaenavon. Many thanks to David for pointing them out for me. A filter certainly aided my quest at home that's for sure.
