Observing Session 1/6/2013

Ok folks,Pat was going to arrange the summer meets but as his health has taken a turn for the worse i will carry on until the autumn.So the next session will be held at Blaenavon on the 1st June for those who havnt attended before her are the co-ordinates +51° 47' 25.57", -3° 4' 10.74".

Even though I've packed away I still would like to come to catch up but got a wedding in the day unfortunately - and believe me I'd rather be on a mountain in Blaenavon

I'll be sunning myself in Turkey on this date but hope to make the next one. Apparently there's a 16" dob set up near the beach for tourists to look through (for a small charge no doubt) so hopefully ill still get my fix!

I had some thing similar in gran canaria, a chap had about 5 or 6 telescopes set up and for 5 euros you could spend about 15 minutes looking through them. A clever little idea and it made my night

2x scopes set up at benalmadena promenade last week , s/w ed100 on the moon (day time) and a Coronado solar 1euro for a look and a photo Lenny

I might be able to make this one. It'll be good to meet up (first time!). I finish up on nights on the friday so could pull an all nighter if necessary Not that there'll be much in the way of 'darkness'. Hope my solar filter arrives in time.

What time are people arriving? I'm thinking about 9.30 to set up, can't see it being dark enough to observe until close to 11.

I'll probably be there 9 - 9-30. I have a load of new gear (to me) which I'm unfamiliar with, so I'll need a bit of setting up time.
