My first floater!

Ok... they're not called floaters, are they? I don't know what to call them... but I saw my first one today!

Woke up to find the bright thing had returned to the sky. Managed to get all my bits and get imaging between the tiny gap between two trees. I did the usual full disk to see what's going on, and then turned to the prominences. With the gain turned right up, I saw the detached bit as above. No clue as to its presence at more normal exposures. However playing about more with the etalon tuning and exposure didn't extract any more detail, so at least for what I can observe, they are floating. Thanks to another tree, my short session was over.

Hi,

It looks like a detached prom. They do tend to be wispy in nature and it will be gone soon, so nice capture. The sun was very good from my location this morning and the seeing very good.

An excellent picture! I think you caught this detached prom a bit earlier than me, mine is extremely faint and I only noticed it in processing.
