Observing session 8/9/2012

End of the week is looking good- unfortunately can't make Saturday but might be out and about on Friday night if things work in my favour - whats the situation with the moon though? its likely to be pretty high and bright I imagine.

Moon rises about 11pm I think Steve but there should be some proper darkness for a good hour beforehand. Fingers crossed it'll be clear.

Me and my dad will be there! Hope to find some more Messiers under the darker skies. Wasn't able to up Eppynt on account of the Moon. It will mean watching Doctor Who the next day but I'm fine with that.

The session is definately on,the forecast is superb and with the moon entering its last quarter and jupiter up at around 12 30 we could be in for a VERY good session.

Word of warning

Dew point came in last night at 10pm and it started to get cold. Dont be fooled by the warm weather today. You will still need to have some warm clothes tonight.

Was out last night and have never seen dew like that before

The dew was bad last sunday,luckily the ive got a telrad dew shield and dew bands.The weather looks awesome for later but as Pat said it will drop off quickly so bring your warm clothes,when i got home from work last night ( 1.30am) it was 5*c and quite nippy But the conditions were excellent

My local forcast looks good also, which is encouraging. Still have a few things to do today, but hopefully I'll make it up to the site early.

100% cloud here at the moment, any local forecast round Blaenavon.

At the moment it's a no for me. will keep a close eye on the situation as this cloud could lift quickly.
