Cornelius Varley
The direct slr connection is part of the focuser adapter. If you watch the video in this thread you should be able to understand how the camera is attached http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/158398-200pds-sony-nex-3/Peter
valleyman
You will need a T adaptor ring for the make of your dslr and a nose piece. They screw together and then the nose piece goes in the hole where the EP uselly goes, you will then need to adjust the focus on the telescope to get a picture.Handy if you have Live View on the camerahttp://www.firstlightoptics.com/adaptors/t-rings.htmlhttp://www.firstlightoptics.com/adaptors/low-profile-125-nosepiece-c-threads.htmlthere here

Tinker1947
The Dob type scope it not up to much when used for Astro P, you might get away with a web cam for the Moon and Planets, but DSO's will not really work.....
sam mayo
thanks for the reply makes sense now, astromat does some really great imaging with the 250px,im not thinking about it for a while got lots to observe first it was just bugging me that i didn't no what it was.could i use just a web cam to get some basics of the moon?thanks for the replys
sologuitarist61
The focuser adapter has a T thread on it - get a T ring for your camera and hey presto!
brantuk
Does astromat have his 250px on an equatorial or dobsonian mount? Would make a big difference if he does. If he has a dob then check if it's a manual or motorised one - they even come with goto nowadays. He might get a few "shorter" exposures on dso's using a tracking dob - but nothing more than 20-30 secs or so without star trailing
RikM
It is not easy to get even webcam shots of the moon with the manual 250PX Dob. You would need one of the GoTo or Auto Flextube models for that or to get pictures of deep sky objects you would need to mount the OTA (Optical Tube Assembly = the telescope bit) on a heavy duty equatorial mount like an NEQ6 or maybe something even bigger. That's what I do with mine.
Scott
just wondering rik, do you park your car inside that thing on rainy days? Scott
