Hi Group

My name is Alan Douglas I am 45 years young and  based in Nottingham.

Been into Astronomy for about 3 years. My scope is an Orion Europa 200mm Newt EQ5 mount with dual motors.

I also have a Skywatcher ST80 for quick set up viewing. I am also into Astrophotography and use a Canon 350d for Prime focus and also piggyback use.

Orions and Skywatchers are excellent scopes for the money and yours sounds like a very workable setup; a newt' for its aperture and an 80mm for its grab-and-go convenience and wide-field views.

I also have the 300D and have found it to be very good at the astro side of things... even without the red response.

I have a 8" F/5 Newt (similar to yours) on a HEQ5. I've just swaped a ST80 for a ST102 then swapped that for a 80mm F/11...

So I know that your'll have fun with that set up!
