As predicted its turned wet n cloudy but I've been quite happy tinkering around with it and working out what goes where and which does what etc. I have one question though. The finder scope seem to be held very loosely and can be wobbled by hand, is this right? If not what have I done wrong??

Very nice Dave, have fun with it!

There should be a large o ring for fitting on the finderscope, once positioned in the bracket it should help to keep it stable once its all tightened up if I'm not mistaken.

Oh Bum!!! There was a rubber ring wrapped around the bracket. As I remember I put it back in the box with the other bands and stuff and then put the boxes in the attic...

Oh well, better get my ladder back out! Thanks for the advice though Nexus

A load of rubberbands wrapped around do exactly the same job if you can't find it. There's an rib around the polarscope for it to sit in.

I left the black rubber ring wrapped round the finder scope bracket where I found it for a couple of week's before I read on here what it was for lol

Thanks for sharing your new scope with us all - looks as if you're going to have some some fun with it!!

We shall all be looking forward to your first light experience and a signature detailing your new kit (and other astro bits and bobs)

Always (I think) a good idea to keep the boxes - you never know when aperture fever will strike and your new baby will off to new parents to help fund those extra inches!!
