Hi there,

I just thought I'd introduce myself and let you know what stage I'm at.

I'm from Southend-On-Sea, UK, and whilst I haven't followed astronomy as an 'avid fan', I have always shown an interest. My Dad bought me a little telescope from a boot sale when I was a kid and we had lots of fun with it, although I do remember the frustration of trying to hold it still! It has remained an interest for many years and my husband kindly bought me a telescope for Xmas.

It is a TA900-114EQ from Jessops.

It is currently unwrapped and assembled and is sitting in my dining room until I figure out the jargon on the back of the instructions. :p

Anyhoo, I just thought I'd say hi.

Hellow Tornado and welcome to the Lounge.

Hope you get the jargon sorted soon and get to see some great views.

Haven't got a 'scope myself yet, waiting until February when I have scrambled the money together:D Hopefully I can unravel the jargon a bit more by reading my way through these forums. I've learned so much from these pages over the last few months it's unbelievable :icon_salut:

This forum has to be the best place to start with jargon busting and getting good, reliable info for star gazing :p

Hi Tornado and welcome to the forum. Sorry to be a bore but is there any chance you could change your font as I found it difficult to read your message - might be my age! :p:D
