I've been taking some shots of the Horsehead with narrowband filters over the last few weeks.

I dont have enough data yet for a full image, but I thought I'd have a look at what I have so far to see if it is worth continuing.

There is a lot of Ha signal, and very little Oiii and Sii, so that standard narrowband colour mapping made it look a bit wierd.

But halfway through processing, this version came out, and I rather liked it but dont know why.

At any rate, here it is

Neigh lad, that's a keeper! Really attractive, dusty look and clean, halo-free stars. You've got the Quattro tickled up very nicely, too.

Never seen the horse head in NB and this looks really subtle and intriguing. Would be lovely to see the whole lot done like this. Definatly worth continuing i'd say!

That looks fantastic Tim. I'm know nothing about imaging but it seems very good to me, loads of detail and lovely tight star images. I don't think I've seen an image to this scale of Horsey before, most are wider field so this is really good to see.
