Hmmm, my 6mm eyepiece should get a nice 30,000 magnification at the Moon, although I am not sure the surface brightness is enough for that kinda enlargement.

I think they mean 150mm by 1200mm which is f/8 - quite normal for a Newtonian.

It's for observing FTL neutrinos. It slows them down just enough so as you can catch 'em...

It's quite common for the focal length to be specified that way. The clue is in the forward-slash:

F15 - a focal ratio

F/950 - a focal length

Huh? Is that right? I always thought f-ratios were expressed as f/#... I don't think I've ever seen focal length expressed that way. Perhaps I just hang out in the wrong places...
