Hi everyone,

Recommend this forum by a fellow astronomer, my wife is very much in to the astronomy and has a couple of scopes. I'm more of a photographer so I'm looking to do some astrophotography. To start with I think I will be content with planetary and bright dso's. When funds permit I would like to build up some kit of my own (eq5 etc), for now my first task is to get my older dslr (canon 20d) modified for infra red, so I'll be picking some brains hopefully!

For planetary you'll want a webcam - so it needn't be expensive to make a start - plus all the software is free. For dso's you'll want long exposure so that's when you'll use the dslr
