  7. If you buy one it will come with a rather cheap plastic 90 degree star diagonal, swap that out for a better one, i use a Circle T prism in mine.....but most of the time it has a 1000D fitted
  8. get one, they are a great little Mak, no idea how it performs on deep sky but wont be terrible, but as a Luna imaging scope its top notch
  9. Just to make things clear, even though i have a few doubts about getting the 120ED, its a superb scope and i have NO plans to find it a new home, maybe i need to get more interested in deep sky observing to get more from this scope, rather than having it as just Luna :happy11:

  10. My mak 102 now has motor focus, made from a pair of RC servo`s and a few bit i had
  11. Its a Circle K f16.5 sold under the Prinz label, the lens will clean up and you can buy tube rings from TS in germany, in fact i might have a tube cradle that might fit it, start of by cleaning the optics before spending any money, when taking the glass out make a note of the orientation (seek advise if in doubt)
  12. Houston we have a problem...........some one has snuck a newt into a refractor thread...........how should we deal with this infidel
  13. Mike i must have missed the pic, the rings look better on your scope than on TS website, on the site i thought they looked a bit thin
  14. would you say they are a lot more sturdy than the stock skywatcher rings?
  15. Thanks Mike, sounds like i might have trouble getting these
  16. John, dont suppose you know the diameter of the ED120, mine is all packed away and i have been thinking about getting CMC tube rings for it
  17. Paul, welcome to the ED120 club, great scopes
  18. I think you should loan it to.me for a second opinion on this mount or bring it to my little star camp at Usha gap
  19. Mike, superb write up, i still want one but cant justify it, and still looking into getting a bespoke alt az mount made at some stage, but it wont be as nice as the AZ8
  20. Sneaks of to google GM8 lol They look nice and not "mega" bucks...........oh for a lotto win
  21. You mention polar align on this, but why would you even think about it on an AZ mount, sorry just curious about this
  22. Ruddy hell this forum is doing my nut in!, go to post a reply and up comes a quote from previous! back on topic Nice, this mount looks a million dollars, just oozing quality.....only wish i could afford one, okay so i can afford one but i cant justify this kind of outlay, really looking forward to your "in use report" i suspect it will be good
  23. Just a thought, a 2S lipo for radio control models is 7.4 v dc, fully charged they tend to put out 8.4
