  1. This is one of my few tries at Astroimagining. I gaffer taped the phone to the ep and hoped for something. It's picked up the full bubble nebula, well nearly. I do realise this may be disqualified as this is a very difficult subject, old Nick.
  2. Hmm, sounds good, just that nearly everything is sold by the time SGL comes around. At Psp (rip) we used to have a table / car boot on Saturday morning. You could browse stuff that what was sale. It was better just to announce a sale for that morning/ day. I'm bringing some goodies for sale, they'll be at my pitch, old Nick.
  3. It's always been a puzzle to me to see folks enjoying Newts on eq mounts, unless the ota is small, the spinning of the tube is just an art form ! Fracs don't suffer this and are proper telescopes, Nick.
  4. I'd love to have a shot at this most praised achro. I've heard so much , I posted on observing double stars some very fine binaries. Just wondering if the 152 performs with finesse, old Nick.?
  5. Brilliant ! Keep us updated mate, Nick.
  6. Here's some pictures taken with a 3b pencil and a circle drawn around a plastic bowl, Nick.
  7. Compact camera , bleached out the spots, but there's Mercury !
  8. Clear sky , high clouds , just spotted Mercury , ace ! Nick
  9. Abandon ship ! http://clearoutside.com/forecast/52.77/-1.55
  10. Never touched mine, the two Vixens were set at the factory and without collimation adjusters. What you may find is that diagonals may not be collimated, worth checking. The 152 looks superb, from the reviews it's a superb all rounder . A lot better than Apos for the money, Nick.
  11. Jupiter transit and the binaries with the C6r. Both Lee and Patbloke bought 150 f8's. Neither the Phenix (yuk) or the Helios touch the "yard canon. "It really is a nice useful scope. I'd have got the Newt out, but it doesn't like moonlight . I could see a festoon or two into the equator, but the seeing was so transitory , it was hard to define and draw, but defo there,

    clear skies,

    Nick.

  12. It's a superb bit of kit, I enjoyed the view of Jupiter . I asked Shane what a good DIY globe Dob base would be. The only thing that came up was a crash helmet, XXXL ! Nick.
  13. Keep at it , Taurus doubles are tops ! Σ559, I noted as spectacular ! I picked up Σ749 with the 150. The ghostly speck of 52 Tau ( phi) being a favourite. Packed ! nick.
  14. Ouch ! This is what happens when you put your ep case on something that gave way on the shed floor Perhaps we'd better not start a thread on "Show us your disasters !", Nick.
  15. Yep , when the permacloud clears , it's getting towards galaxy season. Got a lovely view of M86 and co. Just trailing along on Vigo , as Leo was so high, Nick.
  16. There's not a long wrong with 24 carat gold !
  17. Wow ! That's come out brilliantly. These old 150 f8 achros open up binaries and deep space. Certainly looks very stunning , nice resto project ! Nick.
  18. Can't wait for first light, it's going to be a stunner. Been looking over your shoulder every step of the way. Legend, Old Nick.
  19. By jinks , there's such passion here for refractors. Really inspiring to see these beauties, Nick.
  20. You just have too many fracs. They take up little room and don't have fussy shaving mirrors. It's got to be a frac!
  21. Just had to include no.1 son waiting for the eclipse. The very epitome of early morning style. Somehow you can tell he's a graphic designer and an artist, Old Nick.
  22. He's back ! " must be one of them amity telescopey thingy"
  23. Lovely lovely lovely ! Vixen 90M Vixen 102SP Icy C6r. Old Nick.
